The Boston Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks 107-89 in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night. Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 32 points, while Luka Doncic scored 20 points for the Mavericks.
The Celtics jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. They shot 38.1% from the three-point line, while the Mavericks made just 27.2%. Tatum was particularly effective from long range, making five of his 10 attempts.
Doncic was the only Mavericks player to score in double figures. He also had 12 rebounds and 8 assists.
The Celtics now have a 1-0 lead in the series. Game 2 will be played on Sunday night in Boston.
